چکیده

This paper describes a new widely tunable transconductor that can realize a channel-select filter having both of these characteristics. The transconductor includes a new negative source degeneration resistor. The paper also discusses the measured results obtained for the 6-order elliptic LPF adopting this new circuit. We propose a new negative source degeneration resistor (NSDR) transconductor to achieve a wide continuous-tuning range gm-C filter applicable for IEEE802.11a/b/g wireless-LANs and W-CDMA. The NSDR-transconductor comprises a linearized transconductor using a source degeneration resistor and positive feedback differential amplifier that acts as a negative resistor. This configuration enables the equivalent source degeneration resistance to be drastically increased without degrading linearity, thus resulting in wide gm tuning.

Widely Tunable 4th Order Switched Gm-C Band-Pass Filter Based on N-Path Filters

A widely tunable 4th order BPF based on the subtraction of two 2nd order 4-path passive-mixer filters with slightly different center frequencies is proposed. The center frequency of each 4-path filter is slightly shifted relative to its clock frequency (one upward and the other one downward) by a gm-C technique. Capacitive splitting of the input signal is used to reduce the mutual loading of th...

On designing linearly-tunable ultra-low voltage CMOS gm-C filters

A linearly-tunable ULV transconductor featuring excellent stability of the processed signal common-mode voltage upon tuning, critical for very-low voltage applications, is presented. Its employment to the synthesis of CMOS gm-C highfrequency and voiceband filters is discussed. SPICE data describe the filter characteristics. For a 1.3V-supply, their nominal passband frequencies are 1.0MHz and 3....
